on inquiring to the locals, it came to me that the town contains only 100 houses but it has most spectacular beaches. It is rich in flora and fauna with mango trees and palm trees around.

History of Ganpatipule:

The name Ganpati pule has been originated as the 400-year-old Ganpati idol at Ganpatipule is said to have sprung up from the soil, also know as “Swayambhu”. The temple is at the base of a hill, and many pilgrims walk around the hill as a mark of respect. It is popular pilgrimage place for Marathi people.

I have explored the temples, beaches, forts and surrounding areas of Ganpatipule by walk and by auto. Here is best list of Ganpatipule Sightseeing.

Ganpati Pule Temple and Ganaptipule Beach

One of the top places to see in Ganpatipule is Ganpati Pule temple. The name of Ganpatipule Town comes from it. It is located right on the Beach. The idol inside the temple is more like Siddhivinayak temple of Mumbai.  The idol of Ganapati here is believed to be ‘swayambhu’. The idol of ‘mooshak’ made out of copper is placed outside the temple. The God is considered to be the Paschim Dwarpalak (Western Sentinel God of India) and those who visit Ganapatipule make it a point to pay their respects to this deity.

Ganpatipule Beach is gorgeous and found full with tourists. It has clean water and not so high tides which is good for swimming. If you are looking for shopping in Ganpatipule, visit small market on the beach which have numerous shops which sells mango pulp, Kokum syrup and other items like Masalas etc . You can always jump on good coconut with so many coconut sellers around.I walked whole beach area spanning approx 1-2 Km.

Aare Ware Beach:

On second day of my stay in Ganpati Pule, I decided to explore nearby beaches of Ganpati Pule. The road to Are ware walks past with cliffs and sea waves below. I can describe this drive as “Great Ocean Road” of India. Are and Ware are small towns that are located near Ganapti Pule. It has some crystal clear waters and beautiful shoreline. I found more tranquility here than Ganpati Pule.

We have reached here by Auto and walked for almost 3-4 Kms as it passed through beautiful cliffs and sea waves that furiously meet the rocks. You can watch this phenomenon for hours. The aerial view with swaying coconut palms and white sand makes it picture postcard perfect. I must say walking is the best way to experience the beauty of this place. I loved every view from the walk, from seashore to Palm trees and endless greenery surrounding the place. This is my favorite best places to visit in Ganpatipule.

Bhandarpule Beach:

BhandarPule beach is located in the small village called Bhandarpule. It is also clean beach with less people who visit it; so you will not find many people around. You can have whole beach to yourself. It is lined with so many palm trees and water is so crystal clear, but you cannot swim due to high tides here. I have stayed here for half day and its best Picnic spot near Ganpatipule.
